Privacy Policy

1. About This Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Northwake ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Monthfold iOS, iPadOS, and macOS application ("App"). By using the App, you acknowledge this policy.

2. Planner Data

Your events, notes, color tags, and stickers are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. If you are signed into iCloud, this data syncs privately across your devices via CloudKit. Monthfold has no access to this data — it lives entirely in your iCloud account, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

3. Location

The Sunlight feature can use your approximate device location (accuracy: ~1 km) to calculate sunrise, sunset, golden hour, and daylight duration for your current area. Location is only accessed while the app is in use and is never stored on any server or shared with anyone. The coordinate is used solely for on-device solar calculations.

If you deny location access or prefer not to use it, a default location is used instead and you can manually set any location you choose. You can also disable the Sunlight feature entirely.

4. Calendar Events

If you grant access, Monthfold can read your Apple Calendar events and display them as an overlay on the planner grid. The app reads these events only for display — it never modifies, copies, or transmits your calendar data.

5. Custom Stickers (Photos)

If you add photos from your library or files as custom stickers, the image data is stored locally and synced via your iCloud account. Images are resized to a maximum of 512 pixels before storage. This data is never sent to Northwake or any third party.

6. Data We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect names, email addresses, or any account information.
• We do not use analytics, crash-reporting SDKs, or advertising frameworks.
• We do not track usage or behaviour.
• We do not sell, share, or monetise any data.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

All your data is under your control. You can delete individual events and stickers at any time within the app. You can also use "Reset Calendar…" in the app menu to permanently delete all planner data and custom stickers from your device.

Deleting the app removes all locally stored data. To remove synced data from iCloud, manage it through your device's iCloud settings.

8. Security

Because all local data remains on your device, it is protected by the security features built into iOS, iPadOS, and macOS — including device passcode, Face ID, and Touch ID. Data synced via iCloud is protected by Apple's security infrastructure. We do not operate servers that could be compromised.

9. EEA, UK & Switzerland

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the following applies.

Controller. Northwake is the data controller for any personal data processed in connection with this App.

Legal basis. Because Monthfold does not transmit personal data to Northwake, we do not process your personal data on our systems and no GDPR legal basis is triggered for the App itself. Location data accessed for the Sunlight feature is processed entirely on-device.

Your rights. You have rights under applicable law — including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, and portability. Because we hold no personal data about you on our systems, the most direct way to exercise these rights is to delete your data within the app or uninstall it. For any other requests, contact us at hello@northwake.dev and we will respond within 30 days.

Retention. All data remains on your device and/or your personal iCloud account for as long as the App is installed.

10. California Residents

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), California residents have certain rights regarding personal information. Monthfold does not sell or share your personal information with third parties, and we do not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. 11. Children's Privacy

Monthfold does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13, or under the applicable age in your region.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted in the App's release notes. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
